Can you freeze smoked salmon pate. Dill a very fragrant herb. Usually it contains heavy cream mascarpone and or crème fraîche. Or you can also add these flavour enhancers. In this case you should not freeze it.
First you can incorporate chives for a subtle tanginess. If you decide to freeze them it is best to only store them that way for short periods. This smoked salmon and dill pâté is also wonderful made with flaked hot smoked mackerel but make sure you remove and discard all the skin and any tiny bones before using. Worth trying rather than wasting it.
You can freeze it from a food safety standpoint but there is no guarantee that the sour cream will hold up wellâ it tends to crystallize and the salmon may also although being smoked would help that. You can make the loaf allow to cool then wrap well and freeze for up to 3 months. In general none of these products holds up well to freezing. A week later i partially defrosted it just enough to portion out the smoked salmon into smaller sizes and placed them into individual freezer ziplock bags back in the freezer.
